open source DAMs
another day at the farm
considering the in and outs of database management within the confines of non-profit……
what this means is somewhere out there exists a image database that can support 300,000 record in any crazy configuration my little librarian and information architecture mind can dream of……..
so distorted seeing data as nothing more than modeling clay that needs to be shaped into a rat one minute and a building another
all this rambling can be defined as this:
my problem…i need a system that can do lots
- OAI
- metadata schemas that include: dublin core : MARC : XML : VRA : CDWA
- controlled vocab and pick lists
- security access on an object level and a collection level
- multiple collections that can support multiple objects from varied collections (if that makes sense)
- oh wow there is so much more….
- workflow: approval process, authors, users
- batch import of up to but limited to 100,000 objects
- light box or e-commerce style attributes
- something i do not manually have to re-code
- FREE
what i have looked at……
if there are any messing please let me know as i continue my search to combine two words that in the tech word never go together desire and receive!
